Edinburgh is a wonderful city filled with beautiful architecture and stunning landscapes. It is also home to a vast array of people who help bring the city to life. With the CES Edinburgh Scavenger Hunt we want you to take some pictures that highlight some of the things that make Edinburgh Edinburgh!
Working in small groups we ask you to take photos of the following 20 things. When you are taking the photos you need to have at least one person from your team in the photo as well - no just stealing photos from Google images!
You can upload your photos to your dedicated PhotoCircle account and prizes for the best photos will be awarded at your graduation ceremony.
Please respect other people when you are taking photos and ask permission first.
It's definitely not a dress!
The kilt is part of the national dress of Scotland and is traditionally worn by men.
Kilts are made of tartan fabric which connect the wearer with their family or "clan".
Some people love them and some people hate them. Either way bagpipes have provided the sountrack to Scotland for over a thousand years.
Do you know that Taylor Swift has featured bagpipes in some of her songs?
Charles III is the current king of Britain, but you can find historical statues of kings throughout the city of Edinburgh - not all of them human!
We love our animals here in Scotland and in Edinburgh you an find statues of dogs, bears, lions, giraffes and even unicorns. Which one will you choose to photograph?
Bute House is where the First Minister of Scotland lives. It is located in the New Town of Edinburgh very close to Charlotte's Square.
Do you know who the current First Minister is?
You can't miss the Castle! It's the oldest building in Edinburgh and is over 900 years old. Can you take a fanastic picture of this historic building?
All the world wants to come to Edinburgh and many countries have an embassy here. Can you find some interesting ones?
When was the last time you sent a letter? We have many postboxes in Edinburgh and we will give you bonus marks if you can find one of the two golden ones in the city.
Why do you think these two have been painted gold?
Have you seen the word "kirk" when you have been exploring the city? It's an old Scottish word for a church.
A blue plaque on a building can mean many things. In Edinburgh it normally means it is either a famous historical building or part of the University of Edinburgh.
Maybe you can find an interesting one.
The double decker bus is a famous symbol of Britain. Please be careful when taking a photo as we don't want any accidents.
They look beautiful but they make it painful to ride a bike! Edinburgh has more cobbled streets than any UK city apart from York.
We know you all use mobile phones, but you can still find some traditional phone boxes around the city. Many of them have been converted into cafes or little shops.
You read that correctly. We are looking for two different colours in the one photo. We didn't say they were all easy!
Maybe more famous in Glasgow than in Edinburgh, but traffic cones have played a big part in the history of Scotland. Sometimes you will find them in unusual places!
Bonus points if you can find a zebra!
The easy option is the Castle, but we think you can be more creative than that. What is the oldest thing you can find in Edinburgh?
The New Town of Edinburgh is 200 years old. What is the most modern thing you can find in the city on your scavenger hunt?
Yellow is the CES colour. What is the most interesting thing you can find in this colour?
Are you a Hufflepuff or a Slytherin? Edinburgh has inspired many magical stories, but what is the most magical thing you can photo in the city?
